First Report

By Amy Moore...

The team made it safely to Guayaquil on Friday around 11 p.m. God is in the details because our Atlanta flight to Miami was delayed about two hours. We were concerned we migtht not make our connecting flight to Guayaquil. However, thanks to some fast flying on the part of our pilot and some prayer we stepped off of the plane in Miami stepped across the terminal and boarded our fligt to Guayaquil. We were back in the air less than twenty minutes after we landed. Praise the Lord our luggage made it too.
After a short night in Guayaquil, where we added teammates David and Sam, we took a 30 minute flight to Cuenca. In Cuenca we added Marcus and M.J. to our team. We also met our wonderful translators. What a blessing that so many of our translators are wonderful Christians exicted about sharing the good news about Jesus.

We met our pastors yesterday and learned about the areas where we will be doing ministry.
Bobbie, Laura, Sam, and David are working with pastor Chico in an area of Cuenca known as Baños. Liz, Audie, Marcus, and Amy are working an hour outside of Cuenca in Paute with pastor Ricardo or Richard. Lillian, M.J. John, and Steven are also working about an hour outside of Cuenca in a city called Gualaceo they are working with pastor Vilmo.

God is at work because instead of working right now to start one cell group in each of the communities we are trying to start two. What a blessing if we can establish six new churches this week.

Today is Fathers Day and also there is a very important football (aka soccer) game going on tonight--Ecuador vs. Argentina. The city is basically shutting down for this event. However, this morning we were able to go to our sites. Baños and Gualaceo went to church in there areas and Paute group began visiting homes. Amy was excited because her group is praying for men of Paute to become part of the ministry to its people and she was able to share her testimony with one father and his children and the man accepted Christ. She is also excited about sharing the gospel with the children tomorrow while the adults meet in cell groups. In Paute what Jesus said is true--"The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few." Today being Fathers Day, pray for the salvation and discipleship of the fathers who could then profoundly affect their homes.
